San Diego has a variety of landscaping grasses. Knowing the best ones to use can be frustrating. It is best to hire an expert landscape designer who can help you decide what is best. Do not assume that there are only a few to choose from, but there are actually many that you don't see in your typical landscaping. Grasses create motion, texture, and a naturalistic feel to a landscape. Here is one of my favorite landscape grasses that I like use here in San Diego. It has a nice reddish orange color on the tips but green underneath and creates a beautiful carpeting affect when bunched together. It is low maintenance and looks good year round as well.
